Tammy Duckworth for US Congress

I am proud to confirm with you that Tammy Dockworth ( Ludda Duckworth),
half Thai and half American has resigned from the Assistant Secretary
position to run for US Congress district #8 for the 2012 elections.

Text by Poxie Xumsai

Join us on her next fund raising on Sunday, September 18, at 3 pm.

The 8th congressional district of Illinois covers the northern suburbs of
Chicago, including portions of Lake, McHenry and Cook counties. The
district includes most of Chicago's northwestern suburbs, such as Hoffman
Estates, Arlington Heights, Schaumburg, Gurnee, Palatine, Mundelein, Zion,
Barrington, the Cook County portion of Elgin, McHenry, and Woodstock. It is
currently represented by Republican Joe Walsh.

In 2006, she came from nowhere and was running against the long term
republican congressman for district #6, she lost at the final round less
than 2000 counts. This time, with her experience and story - from her
heroic service in Iraq to serving President Obama and our nation's vets, is
so different and so compelling that it has stuck with people over the last
six years, she will have much better chance.

As of now, even though the poll shows with positive message, Tammy leads
her component, Krishnamoorthi 60 percent to 21 percent -- a 39 point spread
for the primary election. If she won this election, this will be the first
time in the history that Thai/Asian has become the US Congress from
Illinois. To make sure, no surprise and make sure that she will win both
primary and final election, she will need all of you help and support any
which way she can get - vote, volunteer and financial.

Tammy has been endorsed by US. Senator Dick Durbin and the Emily's List. I
am attaching articles from the Chicago Sun Times and Politico for the
latest information about her campaign.

If you are in the district, make sure you VOTE, donate and volunteer to
help. If you are in the district, you still can volunteer and support her
financially.

I am also happy to inform you that on August 4, we had a meeting with Tammy
and Rep. of Asian Communities (from Thai, Vallapa Kongsri, Nanta
Buranakanchana, Amie Hana and Poxie Xumsai). As the result, - the first
fund-raiser for Tammy Duckworth has been set for Sunday, September 18 from
3 to 5 PM at Phoenix Restaurant, China Town by Chinese, Korean, Filipino
and Thai Community. Please mark you calendar and see the INVITATION for more details about the event.

We would like to invite you to help out by giving or raising money from
your organization making this event a great success. Your early support is
very important in helping Tammy to be the first Thai/Asian American from
Illinois to serve in the U.S. Congress.

For those of you who cannot attend and want to help her and donate the
money, please make check payable to "Duckworth for Congress" and to make sure that your name is on the proper donation list, please
mail the check to:
