Gal (Kaew) Bhudvanbhen-Jung

Once upon a time, Gal never wore jewelry except for special occasions. Even then, the jewelry was never quite what she wanted, nor did it suit her tastes. Eventually, she stopped wearing jewelry altogether. Then came the day she went down the bead aisle at her local craft store and thought, "Hmm, may be I can make my own jewelry. It's cheaper and I'll be guaranteed to like what I make." So began her journey into the land of jewelry making. thanks to a Secret Santa exchange, she got a starter set of beads and tools, and the rest is history. From casual to the more complicated and fancy, Gal makes jewelry that looks good on most everyone and looks different from one person to the next.

Rujanee Mahakanjana
Born in Bangkok, Rujanee Mahakanjana is a native of Thailand, now living in Chicago and working as an artist, interior designer, a filmaker, and an educator. After she received her master's degree in studio arts in 2005, she continues to grow, connect, and collaborate with others in a broad spectrum of creativity. She believes various art forms can come together; traditional or contemporary, spatial movement and composition, especially with time involved. The concept of space within and its essence underlines most of her work in all forms created by herself and most of her studio collaborators.

Chicasso – by Amie Peeyachat Hana

Downtown Chicago is full of architectural wonder and beauty. The beauty of the collection comes from Amie’s decision to take straight shot images as well as photographing reflections of buildings to capture the multifaceted beauty of Downtown Chicago architecture. Through the use of computer graphics, pictures of this beautiful city have been turned into a Cubist wonderland, full of abstract shapes and meaning while still remaining true to Chicago’s spirit. Abstract images created out of the distortion of the original images gives an extra layer of meaning and beauty to each photograph. The similarity to Picasso’s Cubist style has earned the collection’s name “Chicasso,” for each photograph is meant to allow a short sojourn into the realm of illusion while still remaining anchored in reality.

Artist Bio – Amie Peeyachat Hana

Amie was born and raised in Thailand before emigrating to Chicago to work as a registered nurse in the ICU. She also worked in Health Care Management before pursuing her passion for art and photography. In 1993, Amie made the leap and left the health care profession to pursue photography full time. Since then, Amie has made a name for herself for her amazing work. Amie’s photography has graced the covers of many wedding magazines, fashion magazines, and displayed inside magazines through advertisement campaigns. Her amazing work was recently recognized by The Knot Best of Weddings Magazine, who nominated her for “The Best Photographer in Chicago.”

Anothai Kaewkaen
Anothai Kaewkaen was born in Bangkok, Thailand, and moved to the Chicago area when he was four years old. After reading the Odyssey in high school, he fell in the love with the concept of poetic translation and began translating Thai poems into English verse. Currently, Anothai is a senior in the Honors College at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he majors in English, and interns at Silk Road Theatre Project, a theatre company that showcases playwrights of Asian, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean backgrounds here in Chicago. Anothai is also a volunteer at the Thai Cultural and Fine Arts Institute of Chicago, teaching Thai language and classical dance lessons. Next year, he plans to apply for a Fulbright scholarship to render Thai poetry into English for academic use.

Pol Subanajouy

I'm just an enthusiastic nerd who really loves to make (mostly) digital art, in whatever format that may be in. To get to the facts, I'm a Chicago-based artist who is open for freelance work. I have a BA in Electronic Arts from the University of Illinois at Chicago and I identify as a Thai-American and Buddhist.
My style is versatile, and I can do an illustration for a storybook or the art for a graphic novel or pixel art or even old school charcoal portraiture.
